Yaraka to Windorah

Great drive today from Yaraka to Windorah .... lots of the road was dirt but it was in pretty good condition ...


This campervan belongs to Kevin ... Kevin is 73 years old and he travels alone with his two dogs .... nice old bloke


The MIGHTY Jeep had to jump start this Tojo ..... he was very sheepish

Yaraka

We came here in 2015 .... great little place and only $3.00 a day ... The road from Blackall to Yaraka is pretty much all sealed .... a change from 2015

Yaraka was the end of the line ... the last train ran in 2005


The Yaraka Pub take's people up to Mount Slowcombe to see the sunset .... only charge is a donation to the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS)

Telstra has all it's equipment on Mount Slowcombe .... Yaraka now has brilliant mobile and internet services

On the left is Barefoot Bill and on the right is Gerry ...  Mrs Publican ... Barefoot Bill is a real character lives in Coffin Bay in South Australia but heads north in April every year to escape the cold and goes home in September ... and like his name walks barefoot
